Welcome to CIS

Dear CIS Kindergarten Family,

I would like to welcome all newcomers to CIS, and would like to welcome back our KG2 learners. We are excited to have your child join us in kindergarten this year! As our year begins, the CIS team has worked hard to ensure we continue to give you yet another year full of prosperity filled with exciting events, learning, and personal development for your little ones.

We would like to extend our hands, our classrooms, and our hearts to you and your child as your second family in your second home; a safe, warm place suitable for your child to develop, and grow, to acquire long-life skills and knowledge, and to make lasting friendships and memories.

I want to assure you that the faculty, staff, and I are all working together to provide a challenging and positive academic environment for your child. You should feel confident that we would be addressing all of your child’s learning needs through differentiation in our play-based learning approaches. As we are an IBPYP-authorized school that offers a progressive curriculum through the PYP with the KG department being the building blocks to continue up until grade 5.

We believe in raising well-rounded learners who have the skills and knowledge covered in different areas. Therefore, we have made sure to provide your child with a qualified homeroom teacher and co-educator in the classroom that will cover English, Unit of Inquiry, Math, and Pastoral Care(well-being program). As well as specialized teachers for other subjects including Arabic, Music, Drama, and PHE. Not only that but all subjects are taught through play-based learning as this is how we ensure children build their understanding of the world around them.

To give you a head start with some of our organizational and social aspects here at CIS, along with the policies and guidelines necessary for the academic achievement, safety, and well-being of your child, we prepared this handbook for you, so take a look, and let the year begin.

Yours sincerely,
Rasha Anabtawi
